RRR Question
With all that is going on in the world today, how important is it for women and men to worry about the beverage servers uniforms and weight restrictions at the Borgata in Atlantic
City?

John Curran's article in the Philadelphia Inquirer has quoted Robert McDevitt, President of Local 54 of Unite Here, "It's a throwback to an era that doesn't exist anymore, in terms of objectifying women." Weight restrictions put on people so that they can stay in their sexy uniforms is a form of sexism (unfair treatment by one sex to another, esp. of women by men). An issue feminist groups still fight today. Imagine getting on a plane and checking to see if your flight attendant is "sexy enough" for the job. You might have 30 years ago.

Attention Getters - Borgata Babes - One size only
Mood:  energetic
75 years ago Airline "Stewardesses" could not be taller than 5'4 or weight more than 115 lbs. Restrictions then were put on women and is still going on today. I just took a look at a couple articles about the Borgata beverage server uniform and weight contract. They are not allowed to gain more than a few pounds without being suspended from their jobs. The upside to this job is that they are able to use the gym and there is a nutritionist available.

It is hard to beleive that this is legal. With the many laws passed to protect people against discrimination, how did this get by them.

More to come...
